Bio:Oh, lookie! A bio!

Let’s see, I like long walks on the beaches, watching sunsets…

No, seriously (*snort* - as if I ever am), I'm one of those "jack of all trades, master of none" types and I do get caught up in the minutia. I've been told I AM Hermione from the Harry Potter series, which is people's political way of saying I'm a smart-alec know-it-all. But that's okay, and slightly better than the alternative.

Favorite book quote of all time: "Ford, you're turning into a penguin. Stop it."
(That just cracks me up every time...)

Favorite movie quote #1: "You keep saying that word. I do not think it means what you think it means"
(Very handy in everyday conversation, actually.)

Favorite movie quote #2: "One plus two, plus one, plus one..."

Favorite question: "What's the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?"
(You know when people ask you , "So, do you have any questions?" I always do...)

Favorite TV line: "I reject your reality and substitute my own."
(Also handy in everyday conversation.)

If you know the origin of all of these quotes... Well, I'm not sure what is says about you, other than you're disturbingly similar to me. I'll let you decide whether or not that's a good thing...

I’m a huge reader and crafter, and post a lot of book reviews and crafts . A few words on my book reviews: I’m harsh in my ratings, I know. A rating of ‘C’ means the book was okay. Nothing bad (as in, ‘I want those hours of my life back!), but nothing spectacular (as in ‘you must read this right this minute!’). I do not have ‘high-brow’ taste in books, so pretty turns of phrase without a good, solid plot will not get a good grade. I read for enjoyment, and if a book doesn’t drag my into it, I don’t consider it a good book. It may be complete fluff, but if it’s fun, I’ll give it a good rating. I also will read any genre – I’ve read something out of each and can find books in every genre that I enjoy, though some genres, on the whole, are better than others.

I also ‘review’ the movies I watch, though they are few and far in between. I’m not much of a TV watcher (I abhor reality TV) except for sporting events, which I watch with something probably bordering on fanaticism at times. I get so emotionally caught up in the game occasionally that I just can’t bear to watch the end, and have to rely on my hubby to call me back if things make a miraculous turn for the better. (I often watch sports the way that people watch horror movies, with my hands mostly covering my face – what do you expect, being a Cleveland Browns fan and a KC Royals fan is much like watching a train wreck over and over and over…)

Other than that, I’m a bit of an LJ-Addict I'm still on LJ, but with the hoopla, I like others, have carved other niches.

I write a lot of rubbish, make a bunch of crappy icons, and generally spew nonsense every which way as often as possible. I’m an insufferable snoop, and either comment not enough or at the ‘goodness, won’t she ever shut up?!’ end of the scale depending on my mood and BCL (blood caffeine level).

I’ve tried starting up other journals, to give me places to put my more controversial thoughts, or perhaps just a place to make a complete pain in the ass of myself, but it never works out. I always lose interest, although I did once have a conversation with myself in a community. That was… weird. I don’t know how people with puppet journals do it all the time. Anyway, I always end up abandoning and then deleting them. I think I have enough ‘issues’ without adding a multiple personality complex to the mix.

Friend me, I’ll probably friend you back, if you comment and let me know. Otherwise it’s hit or miss, though I am always open to new friends and new communities. I really rarely f-lock anything, though, so you can just drop by whenever.

I typically have some giant writing project in the works, and it can be found indexed at the top of my journal page until I’m finished.

I also believe in keeping my journal ‘fresh’ and tend to delete older entries. The only way I can handle having a journal is if it’s transitory. I have issues with ‘permanent’ records. (This is only one of many ‘issues’ I have…) Anything amazing will be archived and kept on my website (which also chronicles the never-ending struggle of home improvement, but it’s not updated very often, because, really, who has time for that?), but feel free to comment whatever, knowing it won’t be held against you later! (Just as I make sure none of my stupid posts can be held against me later).
